This recipe makes around five dozen so it leaves you with plenty of leftovers! We usually end up freezing a bag or two because we can’t get through them all before they go bad with just the two of us. They also work great as sandwiches or you can even use the dough for pizza crust.
So let’s get started! I’m not gonna lie, it’s pretty hard to mess up these rolls. I mean there is a reason I say they are “easy” delicious dinner rolls. My only suggestion is to make sure your house is warm. If it is too cold, the dough doesn’t rise quite right.
Printable recipe at the bottom.
Mix up the yeast mixture and make sure to cover it.
After you let it stand for 15 minutes, mix together the rest of the ingredients until a soft dough forms. Kneed it. Cover it. Let it rise. This is my favorite part! I love watching the dough grow as it slowly pops out over the side of the bowl.
After you’ve let it raise, it is time to roll it out! I like to cut it into four sections because it is easier to work with. It just depends if you want to make dinner rolls out of it or use the dough for something else.
I always like to go with the crescent shaped dinner rolls. They are super easy and fast. We use a pizza cutter to make the triangles. Believe me, it is much much faster than a knife!
I decided to get a little creative on these ones. We sprinkled cheese and basil over the dough and then rolled them up into a spiral. They turned out pretty tasty! Once you’ve cut out your rolls into the desired shape, place on a greased cookie sheet and they are ready to bake!
While they’re in the oven, whip up some of this Darn Good Bear Creek Chili. You can’t go wrong with it! Especially when it is a bit chilly outside.
Ding! Ready for dinner. Enjoy!

- Mix together warm water, yeast, and sugar. Cover and let stand for 15 mins.
- Then add to yeast mixture eggs, oil, salt, and flour.
- Knead for 10 mins or until a soft dough forms. If dough is sticky, add more flour little by little. Try to avoid making the dough overly stiff with too much flour and kneading. Cover and let rise for 15-20 mins.
- Cut dough into fourths and roll out into desired shape. Dinner rolls, crescent rolls, bread sticks, pizza crust etc..
- Turn oven on to 350 degrees.
- Place on greased cookie sheet, cover, and let rise until doubled in size.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush tops with butter. Enjoy!
Wow! These look SO good!
Thank you Debbie! They are seriously one of my favorites!
