So, whether you are a parent, spouse, fiancé, sibling, classmate, or a med student yourself — here are 55 Useful Christmas Gifts for Medical Students.

FOR STUDYING

Whether you are a parent, spouse, fiancé, sibling, or classmate, here are 55 Useful Christmas Gifts for Medical Students.

We all know how much time medical students spend time studying. A good set of highlighters, pens, pencils, and notepad is just what they need to make sure they remember the firehose of information they’re given! I particularly love the Zebra brand because it writes so well.

There are loads of different study tools and books that medical students use to study the various subjects required of them. A few of my husband’s favorite study tools included: Sketchy, Anki, UWorld, and Amboss. When it comes to gifts for medical students, why not take a bit of the financial load off them and purchase one of their textbooks. When it came to books, he loved the following…

A good set up is also important when it comes to study time. My husband specifically found it important to have a good backpack to carry all his books, laptop, and other materials. He has a SwissGear backpack that is durable and can handle the heavy load (including a change of clothes/scrubs!). However, his top recommendation is noise canceling headphones. I bought him these Bose QuietComfort I mention below for Christmas during undergrad. We both have loved them!

Here’s a few more ideas for a good study set up. These would make perfect gifts for medical students…

FOR THE SURGICALLY INCLINED

Whether you are a parent, spouse, fiancé, sibling, or classmate, here are 55 Useful Christmas Gifts for Medical Students.

Is your med student interested in surgery? Then this section is for you. We have purchased or rented all of these tools below. My husband says that the 3D suture pad and the knot tying board are his favorite ones when it comes to practicing at home.

FOR ROUNDS

Whether you are a parent, spouse, fiancé, sibling, or classmate, here are 55 Useful Christmas Gifts for Medical Students.

These books come highly recommended by many medical students. Pocket Pimped is a collection of the “most commonly asked questions…written by the residents, fellows, and attendings who ask them. With contributions from internationally recognized faculty, Pocket Pimped, provides insight into the questions you will be asked! Small enough to fit in your pocket, this book ensures that you will never be unprepared. Use the Pocket Pimped advantage to succeed, and know exactly which questions you will be asked!”

Here is a list of Pocket Pimped books that might come in handy on during clinical rotations. I think these would be very useful for your med student as a Christmas gift.

Rounds are often a performance for medical students. Who can present the patient the best. Who pays attention the best and takes notes. And don’t forget, they must remember the little things that make a difference for a patient. Here are a few things that can help your medical student perform their best.

A quick note on these: My husband has particularly loved the whitecoat clip board. He says all the residents have one. The holder for his stethoscope has come in handy to keep it out of the way but accessible. Rounds can be long and sometimes boring. It can be hard to stay away especially in the early morning. So, my husband has found the caffeine pills, the 5-hour energy, and Mio Energy below to be helpful!

FOR HEALTH

It’s obvious that our medical students are under a lot of stress. They often put their health on hold or forget to take care of themselves all together. Here are a few Christmas gifts for medical students that would help them get the sleep they need, manage their health, and relive some stress while in med school.

FOR FUN

I can’t end this list of Christmas gift ideas without some fun! Here are some doctor themed gifts for your medical student that will make them smile and laugh.

I hope you’ve found a Christmas gift that your medical student will love and find useful with this gift guide! Thank you so much for supporting my blog!
